2022 Estate Whole Cluster Pinot Noir
Aromas of blueberry and sweet cream intertwine with lighter notes of thyme, rolled oats, and gravel. This bright and juicy Pinot Noir showcases delicate silty tannins and fig flesh texture. These textural components are joined by flavors of pomegranate, marjoram, and potting soil, which seamlessly transition through to the finish.
Production notes
In 2022, our vineyard produced the right lignification of shoots to craft a special and intentional whole cluster offering. Full maceration, and fermented to dryness on stems and skins, our Whole Cluster was aged for 15 months in neutral French oak.

In 2022, the vintage in the Willamette and Tualatin Valley AVA's started classically wet and cool, highlighted by a frightening cold spell and frost in April that reduced and damaged buds across the valley. David Hill experienced no damage, however, due to its location in the valley. Cooler than most areas and behind in the growing stage, the vintage was protected. A cooler growing season overall and a dry late harvest season yielded high acid and full fruit, making for a fully ripe vintage. The conditions of this vintage have created wines that are balanced, with full fruit and bright acid.
